Let’s Connect!

I get it - you love what you see but still have some questions.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. If that doesn’t answer your question, I’d love to connect & see what kind of magic we can create together!

To start, yes, I really do have over 30 years of experience in the field of education — I just didn't always have a title for it.

Growing up, my mom ran a daycare out of our home. So, kids, learning, & the beautiful chaos of childhood were just part of my DNA. Through college I was a nanny for six kids with special needs. After graduating, I stepped into early childhood education.

Then, one day, standing in a room with eight two-year-olds all running circles around me, something clicked: the chaos wasn't actually coming from the kids.

It was coming from three places:
1. My own emotionally-charged reactions to every “no, don’t do …!”,
2. A schedule I was forcing that didn't fit their rhythm, &
3. An environment that lacked cohesion & flow.

That moment of honest self-reflection changed everything about how I understood behavior — in classrooms, in kids, & in myself.

Around the same time, I took over a martial arts school where I was teaching kung fu & tai chi to students aged 8 to 68. What I didn't realize then, but deeply understand now, is that I was already doing nervous system work. Every single day. And bringing it into my toddler classroom. (Yes, even a 2-year-old can learn how to take a deep breath in a moment of big feelings.)

Since then, I've worked across early childhood, classroom teaching, school administration, & leadership coaching. I’ve been sought after for my professional development experiences. I've served on boards of directors.

Unfortunately, I've also watched dedicated educators & counselors burn out from the inside while administrators, with their hearts always in the right place, don’t know what else to do to support both their staff & their students. That’s because most professional development and even SEL curricula treat the symptoms while the root cause went untouched.

So, I built something different.

The Calm Classroom Collaborative is the result of everything I've learned — in classrooms, on the mat, in boardrooms, & in my own nervous system. I partner with schools to create whole-building shifts that are lasting, measurable, & real. When teachers feel regulated, they teach differently. When students feel safe, they learn. When counselors have breathing room, they counsel.

It's not a program. It's a transformation.

If you're a principal or district leader who's tired of putting out fires & ready to change the conditions that cause them — I'd love to connect!
